Labiaplasty.
minora.
Labia minora is composed of two longitudinal skin folds that typically vary in size. Labial enlargement may be a simple normal variant, and most women have some degree of asymmetry. When the labia minora protrudes beyond the labia majora, it can lead to functional difficulties such as interference with sexual intercourse, local irritation, or discomfort with exercise and other daily activities. With form fitting fashion trends and bathing suits, the appearance of enlarged labia may cause embarrassment. Thus, many women seek labiaplasty surgery for functional or aesthetic concerns.
Labiaplasty reduces the size of the labia minora to achieve improved comfort and aesthetics. As a female aesthetic plastic surgeon, Dr. Lisa Hwang customizes your surgery to your unique anatomy and personalized goals. At your consultation, she will discuss your needs in-depth and guide you through everything you will need to know.
What Labiaplasty Can do.
Surgery.
Labiaplasty is performed at a surgery center under intravenous sedation. The procedure typically takes less than one hour. After recovery, you are welcome to return home, accompanied by a responsible adult.

Recovery.
After surgery, you may expect some swelling, tightness, discomfort, and bruising. Bruising should improve within the first 2 weeks, while swelling may take 3 to 4 weeks to resolve. Walking is encouraged; however, you should avoid lifting over 10 pounds or more strenuous exercise. Avoid sexual activity and intercourse for 6 weeks to avoid delayed wound healing problems. No dressings are required in the area, but keep the area clean with soap and water.

Risks & Complications.
Risks of labiaplasty include bleeding, infection, prolonged swelling, changes in sensation, and delayed wound healing.
